What Is This “Pure Barre” You Speak Of?

I’m about to convince you that Pure Barre is the best exercise in the world.

Kidding, everybody has their own workout preferences!

But for me, it really is the best exercise in the world. Pure Barre is a barre workout that consists of a low-impact (no jumping involved) workout that works your major muscles to fatigue resulting in improved strength, endurance alongside toning and defining every inch of your body. I know, it sounds almost too perfect.

Many people who ask me what I do to workout are almost always immediately discouraged when I say I do barre. I could only imagine what they’re picturing in their head after I say that. Probably something like this…

Soo.. nope. It actually couldn’t be any further from the truth! You don’t need to have any experience with exercise, dance, or anything! If you have a body, you can do Pure Barre.

Pure Barre classes consist of about 20 people and one instructor. You utilize a ballet barre, but not for dancing purposes like you may think. The purpose of the ballet barre is for balance purposes only! Throughout class you will do teeny-tiny-micro-movements in order to work your major muscles to fatigue which is where the magic happens – when you work your muscles to fatigue, you are changing, toning, shaping and strengthening them. That’s why after a few classes at Pure Barre, you will notice your arms will be more toned and you’ll probably be able to zip up your favorite pair of jeans a bit easier.

The low-impact nature and small movements of Pure Barre make it a workout that anyone of any age and experience can do! But that doesn’t make it easy. Let me tell you, it never gets easier. You just get stronger. After going to classes for a couple of months, you will notice you can hold your forearm plank longer than you ever thought possible. You will notice you can do a full-body pushup without coming down to your knees. You will also notice increased flexibility which is so important!

These 50-minute classes are an escape from reality – think of them as opportunities to focus on YOU and your body while listening to great music and surrounding yourself by others who will always encourage you to become the absolute best version of yourself.

*This blog post is not an advertisement for Pure Barre! I’m simply obsessed with it because of the way it makes me feel and the amazing results it has given me!*
